For centuries Scotland has been associated with elopements — Gretna Green, especially. Its lush rolling hills, weather-worn castles and moody lighting makes for the most beautiful backdrop. We got married in Scotland, so it’s safe to say it holds a special place in my heart. Whenever I’m feeling nostalgic for the magic of that romantic week years ago, I gravitate towards a Scotland-based romance. From historical to contemporary to paranormal, there are so many wonderful escapes… and they usually feature an ultra grumpy tartan-wearing hunk with an accent so thick, you’ll want to swim in it.

But will living within the same castle walls turn their arrangement into something more? If anything, the forced proximity definitely turns up the heat. Warning: This series features a full cast of steamy Scotsmen.

Warning: If monster romance isn’t your cup of tea, you may want to skip this one. I wasn’t sure if I was… and this pretty much solidified that I am not. As always, Lana delivers great writing as she brings to life the mythical Loch Ness monster… who also happens to be a sexy grumpy Scotsman.
